Emerson College inaugurated a new President last week at the beautiful Majestic Theatre in Boston and ECS Video was there providing teleprompter for this school’s historic event.
We know spring and warmer weather are on the way when we get our first request of the season for using a teleprompter outdoors. We wouldn’t say it was warm (50’s with a good wind coming off Boston Harbor) but it was sunny, and all our displays are outdoor readable. It has been a very busy fall for ECS Video Systems. We had our teleprompters on lots of straight video productions, in person, and on Zoom, virtual events, and graduations which keep coming long after the traditional season is over. There were a few live events, in hotel ballrooms, and a Katie Couric book tour event at the Orpheum Theater in Boston. There was even this shoot with Alex Rodriguez for MLB and Mastercard. ECS Video Systems was pleased last week to be a part of Boston Beer Company’s first virtual 2020 Internal Annual Meeting. It was broadcast, socially distanced, from their Sam Adams Downtown Taproom, located adjacent to Boston’s historic Faneuil Hall. From one of three control rooms, Magic Scroll for Windows prompting software fed three Cue Script CSM -17 (17 inch) on-camera displays. An additional display, mounted on a Steadicam, roamed the three different sets created in the Taproom.

This past week we worked several days with a financial education company in southern NH. We provided one on-camera display as well as a couple of side monitors used in an interview situation. ABC News in NH for the Presidential Primary
If you followed the Presidential Primary last week in NH you may have seen our gear in action. We provided six teleprompter displays and two operators for ABC News in two venues. These displays were used on Good Morning America, World News Tonight, ABC Live, and the Debate on Friday night. We also provided prompters and operators for four of the candidates as they traveled around the state.
How does Boston University celebrate the completion of a 7 year capital campaign? They put on a show at their Agganis Arena which included flying figure skaters, their hockey team and marching band, the Boston Pops, medallions for everyone in the audience which were remote controlled to create lighting effects in the stands, 17 projectors to create images on the entire ice, two giant drop down screens, one of which was three sided and who knows how many cameras. Oh, and they hired ECS Video Systems to provide teleprompters on two stages at opposite ends of the ice. No small challenge there. It was our pleasure to be part of the celebration.
